Snow Day (2000) is an American comedy film by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies. The film focuses on a group of elementary students in Syracuse, New York, (led by Natalie Brandston) who try to keep their school snowed-in and closed by stopping a snow plow driver from plowing the streets. Meanwhile, her older brother Hal tries to win the heart of high school sweetheart Claire Bonner. Also, their dad (Tom Brandston) is a TV meteorologist who must face off against a rival meteorologist in order to have the right of continuing their weather career. It was filmed in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was originally planned to be a movie based on the television series The Adventures of Pete & Pete, but Paramount was not interested in making a film based on the series. The single "Another Dumb Blonde" was released from the soundtrack.
